Holy millionaire’s plaything!

Are you a trust fund billionaire bored of the fripperies of wealth? Do you like to spend your spare time dressed head-to-toe in spandex and a cape? Do you have a split personality and a hankering to fight crime?

Then you need to jump in the private jet and head to The Petersen Automotive Museum Auction on December 8th, where RM Sotheby’s are offering this wonderful 1966 Batmobile recreation.

This ain’t your average fibreglass replica though; it’s an original mid-sixties car, said to be Batmobile #6 built to promote the TV show, and is hand-crafted in steel on a ’59 Lincoln chassis.

Just look at it… it’s glorious.

As big boys’ toys go, this is probably about as good as it gets.

Interested? You’ll need the deep pockets of Bruce Wayne himself – this piece of televisual and custom car history has an estimate of $175,000 – $225,000. Pricey, but a relative bargain compared to the $4.2 million paid for the George Barris original in 2013.
